Philippine Red Envelope campaign

The SWS survey on RH 5043 has created the impression that a majority of Catholics in the Phils is supportive of the Bill. To correct this impression and to give lawmakers the real score, this blogsite is supporting Pro-Life Phil's Red Envelope campaign.

The idea is to send red envelopes to congressmen/women, senators, and government officials about how we feel about elements of the RH 5043 bill. Red signifies the blood of the unborn that is wasted through abortion procedures, abortifacients, and contraceptives. Red is the color of the conflict we find ourselves in.

Below is a template of the message, which you can modify as you see fit.

"This envelope represents one child who died in abortion, or who was prevented from enjoying life because of artificial contraception. Other than this message, it is empty because that life will never be able to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.

Please sign your name and if you wish, your address. This is to let the addressees know that the envelope comes from a real person who opposes RH 5043. The address is to let your congressman/woman know what you are a constituent who can vote for or against them in the next elections.

The envelope should be red, the hue doesn't matter, and neither does the size or shape. Unfortunately, there are no red envelopes available in bookstores in the Phils, at least not in Metro Manila, so you will have to make your own envelopes using red paper.

Address your envelopes to your congressman/woman or a senator or a government official, eg, Sec Francisco Duque of the DOH, Sec Jesli Lapus of DEPED, and even President GMA. Don't forget to stamp your envelopes and send them to their offices. If you have their home addresses, send them there too.

The current efforts of Sen Biazon to fast-track the passage of the Bill during this Congress makes this campaign of critical importance.
